My process. I believe designers can imagine answers to our social and environmental challenges. I focus on textile design and business models for a circular economy. I have a proven track record in design education and development. Experiences include a year long lecturing post at The Glasgow School of Art and international consultancy work for the craft sector in Pakistan.

In my own textile designs I couple aesthetics and sustainable material innovations; collaborating with manufacturers to hand weave fabric from industrial waste. Designing for a circular economy means keeping materials at a high quality for as long as possible. I also work with 'GoodWeave' certified rug manufacturers in India to offer one off ethically manufactured rugs. I’m an advocate of slow design and sustainability.

I design for experiences not stuff. My process involves drawing and making to help generate and test ideas. I'm curious about art, design, football and far away places. I find most enjoyment from projects in these spaces, so that's where I put most of my effort in researching. Above all I give myself permission to fail.
